Is The Lobby System As Bad As Comments Say?

Also are they really ruining the game with recent updates? I want to make GGS my main fighting game but seems like another dev ruining another good game

I'm a noob but watching some formidable players' reactions to the latest patch suggests that it's going in a good direction.

As far as lobbies go, it seems very inconsistent as to whether they wanna work or not. For the most part I can play matches just fine, but sometimes the lobby will just go funky mode and do weird ♥♥♥♥: game freezing on random post match menus, lobby just dying for no reason, leveling up from a tower you are currently on freezing the game) As long as they keep addressing these issues it shouldn't really be a long term problem. And on a positive note, today I played like 3 hours online with my brother with only 1 weird lobby disconnect early on which could have been his usage of wifi over lan causing a random interruption.

Don't take my word alone, but I am pleased with this game so far and I plan to put a lot of hours into this. I'd love to make it my new main game.

Well, the lobby has some issues from day 0. It won't fixed anywhere soon.

Last patch is only fixed login time from 3 minutes down to 50 second (depends how far your region from japan). Using mod called totsugeki cut it to 20 seconds to boot the game.

For lobby, it have few problem like intrusive rating update, no connection bar indicator, sometimes it fail to connect to battle station. I play on park only atm, so I got better rematch.

Once the match start, the game is very smooth, GGST is the best japanese newgen netcode atm. But to get into that experience you kinda need to tank the lobby experience. (Unless u playing on park)

The lobbies do ♥♥♥♥ in my experience. Not enough to ruin the game for me, but they're easily the worst part of this game. As for "ruining the game with recent updates", hell no. Everyone has more options now.

I get a few annoying battle stations that never connect but otherwise it works for me alright.
