Faust looks fantastic in motion though, man cmon, he's one of the best redesigns in terms of how strongly he embodies this new identity. Now I guess one could critisize the drastic shift from his much goofier appearance in the X series to this new creepy vibe but that's not something new to Faust, in fact, one may consider this a return to form of sorts as he now resembles his "Dr. Baldhead" design a lot more.
Overall, I'd say the redesigns are pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ great on the whole, even though they lost some things in the transition to this new style, but then again, new Guilty Gear, new identity. This isn't the X series, it's something brand new.
As for I-No goes I agree with you, it's not as good as before, but I wouldn't say it's bad either, just not as good. I-No was never a fanservice character to begin with since her whole character including her design was a clear reflection to the wicked nature of the character, but even then a lot of people would without doubt start throwing trash at the game just for a character showing a bit of skin without knowing anything.
Also lmfao the sex appeal for I-No got even bigger with this design, they didn't remove it.
Nah. Chipp look super buffed and not enough like an anime character for the game's ninja.
As for Milia... Her design is fine. But I kinda prefer the old one.
Oh no. It's ♥♥♥♥. I-No had a perfect design: She looks like a witch, have a guitar, and is almost bare tits: She's reminiscent of a wicked witch, which fits since she is a bad guy, because Witch=villain and female villain=sexy. And her being a witch with a guitar tells quite a lot about her playstyle: If you see a witch, you imagine them fighting from afar, if you see a character with a guitar, you imagine them fighting from afar, and her range is quite wide, but more importantly: it's an unexpected mix that is well translated in video game mechanics, kinda like Super Mario. And they had a perfect balance for the character.
Now her design shows her as being somewhat of a cool girl, funky clothes, guitar, sunglasses but also does not give that villain vibe, which is one of her character basis.
And the design is kinda... Really important in fighting games as game design ? Not to mention the most important part of it all: What the ♥♥♥♥ is that outfit ? Really she got a long ass witch hat with a little top, a little jacket, shorts, but long ass boots and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ long-coat ♥♥♥♥ attached to her ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ short, and man, that ♥♥♥♥ is not only ugly, but it can serve no purposes, especially for fighting when someone can just grab those and take you around town. It's like someone took a Summer outfit, Yang's outfit from RWBY season 4 onward (I do think there's an inspiration, she IS in a ACS game after all), smashed them together, put that ♥♥♥♥ on I-No, and BAM, Instant regret.
But somehow it is still better than May who went from over the top, very expressive charadesign to "No chara design", which is as consistent with chara-design as how I purposedly written Chara-Design in that whole sentence.
No.
And ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ no. Before she had bare-tiddies.
I assume you're also Baiken Player.
That's very insulting. Not because of your assumptions, but because it's true.
Though I don't play Baiken for dem tiddies but only because I like her playstyle (and 'cause one armed fighters are badass).
Which is weird because I just can't bare playing her in the previous games.
the only reason this game is getting any attention from other fighting game players now is because it is the first game with decent netcode. even if it does get popular, it will get overtaken unless Crapcom and Namco completely ♥♥♥♥ things up.
Its still a game for the "minority" of players.
Ah ! We won't cry ! It is highly probable that they'll just do a huge ♥♥♥♥♥ move and ... Oh, is that a 5$ DLC to get the costumes ? It's quite probable.
Either way... Guess I'll treat this game like a Street Fighter and save money by not buying the game.... Well, more like the last Marvel VS Capcom.
Which is impressive in itself since I like to play Faust, May and I-No and those are the 3 who got huge re-designs.... And they all suck.
