Why is this a Gorilla game?

I mean, people call you Gorilla if you play a character like Leo, for instance. But you're also a Gorilla if you play May. Then what about Anji? Gorilla too. Ok, Giovanna then? Nah, still a Gorilla. Potemkin? Gorilla master. Sol? Gorilla god.

I'll be honest with you guys, i've never seen a fighting game in my life where the playerbase considers half of the cast Gorillas.
What do you guys think about this matter?

Definition of Gorilla: If you have defeated me it is not because you play better, it's because your character is a gorilla.

P.D: It doesn't just happen in fighting games, it's the same in mobas and every PvP games.

P.P.D: Perhaps I'll improve more if I watch the Replay of the game to study my mistakes. But it's way easier to complaint about external reasons.

I think they basically made a game that highly rewards aggressive play. So most of the character designs can kinda just pummel someone. Also it's just a meme so *shrug*

Basically this. Traditionally Leo was the male gorilla and Jam the female one :P
Straightforward characters that attacks you in the face without stopping for a second (they were built to play like that)

Right. People have always called some of these characters gorillas. All it refers to is their rushdown play style. Some people might use it as an excuse for losses, but even serious players call Sol and May gorillas.

So far, I'm of 2 minds when it comes to applying the "Gorilla" and I think there's a difference between how someone plays and character moves that are overtuned. For example, Gorilla may be applied to either a spamming Gio player who just does stuff because people don't know how to block, and she's just doing what works, or a Sol player punching your gut because they know how good the move is and then when you get tagged, they 45% you and keep the pressure again.

Because people don't play the game and don't know how to deal with them so they call them gorillas on Twitter or YouTube for clout and money.
