Game not launching
I just get an error message stating the file location of GGST-Win64-Shipping.exe followed by Red CreateProcess() returned 5.
Could play the game fine yesterday before the update, I haven't done anything other than buy goldlewis.
I tried: Turning off mods, uninstalling all mods, launching steam and strive as admin, changing resolution scale to 100x, reinstalling and verifying game files then restarting, reinstalling steam as a whole, netsh winstock reset and I do not have antivirus.
Could really use some help bois

does it still work for you? if it does, do you remember what you did last before starting it?

didn't do anything, it's still working. The first time it worked I launched it with the file in win64, after I could launch it normally

stopped working, its because of unverum, after i deleted the mods they're still there, downloaded unverum again and now it broke the game

yup pretty sure unverum is the culprit, completely broke my game

Looks like a graphics card driver update did the trick for my friend who also faced this issue. This seems like an Unreal Engine 4 quirk and I had to find the answer from Valorant troubleshooting tips, off all places.

I had the same problem this morning and I was able to fix it by doing these steps:
1. Open Steam Library
2. Right-click on Guilty Gear -Strive-
3. Click "Properties"
4. Click "Local Files"
5. Choose "Verify integrity of game files..."

Wait for the process to end then try starting the game.

I'm assuming the problem is that steam cant access that crucial file and therefore it won't load?

That's the game's exe, which is what you click on to start the game, so not having it would prevent you from even starting the game, yes.

Turn off whatever anti-virus and windows defender you have, then redownload the game.
Yeah, happened to me, the antivirus caused troubles. I use avast antivirus, and it sent 2 steam archives to trunk, but you can open avast and keep these archives as exception

Validate your steam files again... and again for good luck.
And yes, update, revert, OR repair/reinstall your current drivers for your gpu to working ones. Yes, gpu drivers are notoriously spaghetti.

Make sure no other program you have on your computer is messing stuff up... see what's new and updated since the last time you were able to play. Yes, anti-virus is trash, btw.

Red CreateProcess() returned 5.

This means nothing. CreateProcess was called and it returned 5. There's no context, and I'll assume it's an memory access violation when it tried to create the process; memory and probably in relation to the gpu.

%LOCALAPPDATA%\GGST\Saved\Crashes

contains dumps that windbg can read or xml files to read, but good luck... at the very least maybe it'll give something better to search for that "CreateProcess() returned 5".
