Game still not running at native resolution!
It seems insane to me that all these updates have happened for the game and I am still forced to run this game at 720p when I have a 1080p display. And I'm running an 10th gen i7 with 32gb of ram and a 2070. No reason why this should be happening. Changing the gamesettings.ini does nothing. The game just rewrites the file back to 720p when I change it to 1080p. If I lock the file, it just continues to play at 720p and ignores the fact that the game settings file shows 1080p as the resolution. This really sucks because the game looks like crap in this mode, it's extremely aliased and pixilated. It's very frustrating that you pay so much money for a game in 2021 that can't even run at 1080p, a video standard that came out in the early 2000's.

It's definitely something with your setup, because i can play at 4k with GTX 1060. First game launch allowed me 720p only too, but when i restarted, 4k and other resolution options were available too (same as in Granblue).
Try to update your videodriver (tho i use older drivers 452.06, because new is worse for me in performance department).
Also maybe your antivirus/windows defender prevent game itself to change settings after restart - try to run steam application as admin/game as admin or check antivirus.

Drivers are up to date. The strange thing is, if it were something blocking the application from running at 1080p, then why does this not happen on other games? Just this one? But yea I tried all of that, there has been 3 game updates, and 2 driver updates since I bought the game and the issue persists. Disabling firewall and antivirus didn't resolve the issue. I'm using a notebook, if that helps at all, Asus ROG Strix.

In Nvidia Control Panel (3-d tab, global settings) check, that preferred GPU is RTX2070, not Auto.

Did that too, but to no avail. I noticed that Nvidia experience doesn't have official support for the game yet. Could that be a part of it?

I also just checked my resource monitor while the game was open and it is indeed engaging my graphics card. Utilisation goes up from 3 to 33% on my gpu.

It may not work for you but a weird trick I did to get around this is :
switch it to windowed mode
Choose your resolution.
Move it back to full screen/windowed full screen.

It worked for me. Before I did this, it wouldn’t even show me the options for higher resolution which is strange. I hope it helps

In windowed mode I still can't change the resolution. :(

Sure it is) But i don't play in 4k - only record players fights for YouTube.

did you have desktop resolution set to 720p
before opening the game(first time)
or did you press F11 by mistake some where? avoid that
go to
C:\Users\"username"\AppData\Local\GGST\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor
your local account name in place of "username"
delete all the files
try launching game now

No, at least, it doesn't guarantee bugs-free game)
I read in GBVS thread, that game does not "see" any display of laptop. Maybe it is the case there too. Try to connect your laptop to tv or monitor.

Had the same. Fixed by adding the game to Nvidia Panel manually. Then forced to use discrete video card as a-tanatos-z said (integrated video card was chosen by default).

Oh okay, I see what you mean. I wish they would patch the 4k already
