Any Pointers For Beginners?

I'm level 3. The game decided to throw me in the matchmaking bracket with level 60+s. There's literally nothing I can do but just put the controller down and let them knock me around. Had one dude playing the wolf girl who did nothing but counter hip check me into a corner until I died. Another guitar girl who just wombo comboed the ever living hell out of me.

I hear people all the time in videos and what not talk about using Nagoriyuki's teleport to slip past enemies and their attacks. Maybe I'm doing it wrong but every time I try the projectile always hits, and it never poops me out behind them unless I've knocked them up first or they've jumped.

Is leg sweeping a Leo trying to fish for back stance ripostes a viable thing or do only inexperienced/stupid people get caught by that? Just wondering because I was just in a match as Ky against a Leo who was fishing hard for those backwards stance ripostes/counters whatever they're called so I just used Ky's dust leg sweep thing and it seemed to shut down his whole plan.

Nago's teleport doesn't allow you to go through things, it's not really a teleport and more a dash. I believe it gives him a very slight low profile so you can sometimes go under certain moves like Ram's high sword toss. Otherwise it does not go through projectiles and it does not allow you to go behind your opponent unless you're using it to dash under them while they're airborne or something.
