A lot of people will mock this mentality in hindsight, but in fairness fighting games on PC do have a history of that.
The success of the game on PC has been surprising to most people and it wasn't unreasonable to assume it'd do far worse than it did.

No it's not surprising at all for anyone that is informed because ASW games have always heavily surpassed the PSN online player base on PC since the older Guilty Gears. You can literally pick any of the series and just look into their discord servers where PSN players always complain on not finding any opponent at all (not in the game lobbys and in discord) while the PC channels are always more active.
It may only seem surprising for some because streamers like Maximilian dood like to claim things they don't have a clue about.

I like Max I really dunno why so many hate him...
And I mean reaction videos is just something everyone does, and people spam him about it constantly he kinda needs to react in order to shut people up.
But you're also severely overexaggerating, I mean he even refused to do reaction videos for FF7R because he didn't want to get spoiled and refused to watch the trailers regardless of people spamming him about it constantly.

Imo I just like him because he's wholesome and doesn't screech at the top of his lungs and isn't toxic.
Most Youtubers feel more like drama-gamers to me, it's just about making loud noises and overreacting to everything.
Basically, they act like children and Max acts like an adult.
As an adult I prefer to watch other adults play games.

Best content makers are vtubers - factual and redpilled

Fighting games were historically more popular on consoles because they are perfect games to play with friend on a coach. However with online gaming exploding in last decade(?) PC picked up as PC is just superior for that.
Another note is when they say that console market is bigger then PC, that is for all consoles combined, a single console is market smaller then PC.
So i do not find it suprisingl that PC has bigger playerbase.
