Any tips for a new Faust player?
I finally decided to settle on playing Faust after a long time not really sure who I wanted to play, I've been progressing with him but I'd still like any tips that come with experience? Even just general gameplay tips that aren't specific to Faust?

One big tip for early Faust is to know what all the items do and how the opponent will react to them. Like if you throw an Afro on the ground the opponent may try to jump over it to approach you. A trumpet may have the opponent lose all brain function and run forward to try and pick it up. You can use this knowledge to read their actions and counter them.

Another good tip is when you get the meteor you can teleport behind the opponent with scarecrow so they block the wrong way and get a hot meteor shower.

Don't use the overhead scarecrow in neutral without meter , and don't overuse 6H ( his fullscreen overhead) it leaves you super open i see alot off new Faust players doing those two things.

Focus on what items you pull out , if you get the trumpet use j.2K to get it , it will counterpoke people that try to dash in or push them back so you get it more likly.

2K and 2D are youre best friends in neutral these are both safe , lows , and you get an free item toss ( only when you knock youre oppent down so be carefull).
And don't forget after a normal throw you also get a free item toss

The classic is, throw - item throw - dash in for snipsnipsnip they are always watching the item, so you can get this most of the time, then start you're offense

j.P is a safe way to stop you're opponents air aproach it also combos into j.H , and closer to the corner you will get a sweet wallbounce combo

5P and 2P are both great for “checking” your opponent's movement.

Try to get used to the bomb explode timing , this will make you're offense and defense much stronger.

The way you play Faust is decided on how much you're opponents knows the matchup, don't feel that you need to rush in when they are sitting full screen, throw non stop items if they do that.

if you ever have time, learn how to loop mixmixmix. it does a bit more damage than the average gatling with the same starter and has much better corner carry, and may even lead to meterless wallbreaks. it's a lot easier to do in the corner as well. my general tip for it is to hold down and away from the opponent in between the 2nd and 3rd hit.
