How does this work really?

i try place 1 item transport hub and 1 item transport portal both at ore field and forges that is some distant apart.. nothing happens.. no ore get transported

i made it work but only at very short range

Hello Ripper,

An AOE will be displayed for the item transport hub in the update coming next week. This is a separate feature update, there will be a bug fix update before then. The range is about the size of 2 habitat buildings, but you will be able to see it next week.

Not to complain, but a guide or more explanation could have been good.

So, just to ask: between 2 hubs, you cannot transfer?
Only around a single hub, multiple portals. Like a "underground belt" or something? I cannot transfer between long distance like distant mines? Like a "advanced" train system?
