How does Ship reprocessing work ?
At first I thought it recycles robots at the end of their lifetime but I just realized it can reprocess newly created bots. Does it recycles both ? Or only living bots ?

That being said I don't see the point of the advanced miners, It mines twice as fast but requires two basic miners (So just a compressed version) and a lot of Ship reprocessing (8 for a single Ship Assembler) and on top of that it's not a single ressource craft anymore.

And because it depleted asteroids twice as fast I'll have to move the mining station twice as much.

It could be great to have a 4th type of Asteroid (Let's say ... Titane ?) that can only be mined with advanced miner so you're force to design a line of production for advanced miner.

Bots at the end of their lifetime won't go to ship reprocessors, although I've been thinking about making this happen for a long time. It has large game design ramifications.

As for t2 mining bots, the advantage is that you get a mining productivity bonus using them, so your asteroids can last a much longer time.

Is mining productivity bonus similar to artefact bonus for Printers/Assemblers ?

Yep, it works similar to the duplicator except for mining. So it will generate "free" ore for you basically.

1. The T2 mining bots, even at baseline cost, are cheaper per resource extracted than T1 mining bots; even without the mining bonus. Plus they mine faster.

2. With duplicators, T2 mining bots stand to become a lot cheaper; possibly even cheaper than T1 mining bots. Did I ever mention that duplicators are OP?

3. The mining bonus is mostly useless as far as I can tell (please fix that, dev), since it only ever applies if there is space left in the miner, and I usually build my miners to produce more than they can ship (which makes sense), so they are shipping at full capacity.

On the dev branch I fixed several issues with mining productivity bonus. I'll be putting out a patch later today or tomorrow morning after some testing.

My main problem with Advanced Miner is the 2-ressources craft (Bauxite and Silice).
With basic miners, it's easy to build a new ship-assembling line, just have to find a new Bauxite Asteroid. With Advanced Miner, you need 2 Asteroids AND 8 Ship-reprocessing plant for a single Ship-Assembler.
With no incentive other than mining speed I finish the game without a single Advanced Mining station.

And I try to build without duplicators. I only use them for Quantum Printers and in the very late game on Fullerene and Singularity Circuit/Singularity Engines

Are you really expecting more advanced stuff in a factory game to not get more complicated to make?

Why do you need 8 reprocessing plants? I'm well into the endgame only using one per reprocessed ship type and never ran short of miners. Needing two asteroids is pretty negligible too, they're all over the place.

I'm expecting more advanced stuff in a factory game to be more complicated and worth it.

One ship assembler consume 120 reprocessed mining bot per minute. A single reprocessing plant only produce 15 per min. 8 to 1 is just basic maths. But perhaps I think too much about optimal ratios and a full advanced miners factory probably doesn't need a ship-assembler at full ratio.
