Huh? By who exactly?
As for explaining combos, I'm pretty sure there is a tutorials section that gives you a detailed breakdown of every character's combos and unique skills, so I'm not sure what you mean by that, there are plenty of tutorials for things in this and in Royal.
Also, by a "Persona combo", do you mean your free basic attack combos? Of course they are weaker than skills, they are free and spammable. Skills that cost resources hit something like an order of magnitude harder. Basic attacks still hit weaknesses and can get there on breaking shields, but they are far from the best way of doing that. Ann is one of the best for relying on basic attacks though, because she can infuse all her attacks with fire, which does chip away shields effectively, and is your best bet for this fight if you run out of sp.
On that point, when you say you "tried XXXY on her", what character were you on? And if that was the MC, what Persona did you have equipped? The MC's combo skills change based on the Persona you have equipped, it requires some experimentation to see what each Persona does unfortunately, but some of them are pretty useful.
I was doing it with Mona, Ann and Joker's wind and fire Personas.
