Fixes for Controller Issues
If you are experiencing issues with your controller being recognized when plugged in after launching Persona 5 Strikers, please exit the game, plug in your controller, and reboot the game from the Steam Library.

Due to the positioning of inputs on the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller, some users may encounter incorrect input displays while playing the game.

- To resolve the issue, go to the Steam menu (on the top left) ⇒ Settings ⇒Controller ⇒General Controller Settings ⇒Make sure that Switch Pro Configuration Support is not checked.

If you continue to experience issues with your controller, please let us know in our bug thread!

Thanks!

Thanks for the info! But are we always recommended to go into big picture mode once we plug in controllers such as this?

No

Okay, but what about problems with vibration on PS4/5 controllers, right now the only way it works is by launching the game in big picture mode, going to the controller mapping, then closing it.

No vibration on PS5 controller just for this game.

Is the fact that there is no actual analog turning on the move stick going to be addressed? As of now, you snap to 8 angles when moving around. It behaves as if the analog move stick is a digital pad or is is emulating the WASD movement keys. If you decrease the sensitivity slider, it actually makes it so you can only run in 4 directions... you can't even move diagonally

See this thread for further explantion:

My workaround for no vibration on PS5/Dualsense controller is via DS4Windows and use the option to emulate the Dualsense as a Xbox 360 controller.

I bought today the Switch version of this game and I noticed something between this version and PC version: on Switch the analog movement feels nice, 360° without problems but on PC it feels like if the analog only registered 8 directions (like if it tries to emulate WASD). I have tried several things and nothing worked.
Besides, I got some lag in some cutscenes.
Out of those 2 things, the game runs like a dream for me.
So Atlus, please try to fix those 2 things, specially the -8 direction analog movement- issue!

If you reduce the sensitivity on the movement stick it's even better... then you can only move in four directions!

Yes, it is broken. And the developers still refuse to acknowledge it which is very worrying.

I have an issue with my controller. I played like 15h without any troubles. Now my Xbox 360 controller is recognized as a Playstation Controller. When I try to modify controls it keeps changing every time I move up or down, being recognized as a Dual Shock or a Xbox pad. I can't play anymore with a controller, buttons are always messed up. I tried with two different xbox pad and the result is the same. Anyone knows a way to fix it?

Did you find a fix? Currently got this problem right now and have had it for like a month.

I managed to fix it but I don't really know how, I tried changing controller settings in Steam Parameters and the ones in the game settings (when right clicking on the name of the game) many times and it finally worked. Sorry but I have no idea what solved the problem.

Don't know if this has been mentioned, but I get severe audio lag/skips in the system menu, shops and rarely during cut scenes, when I'm not moving the left analog stick on my control. I'm using a Sony DS4 control with the steam PS4 controller support enabled. I tried using DS4W but it's just the same.

If audio starts to skip/lag I just move the left stick and it gets back to normal.

I know this isn't exclusively controller related, but it happens only when using a controller.

Found a partial solution for this:

Go into Big Picture -> Library -> P5 Strikers -> Manage Your Game -> Controller Settings
Change the input of the left and right stick to "Joystick Move" and exit Big Picture

If you get back to the controller configuration you'll see the controller now correctly displays two analog sticks. This can be even more customized to your liking in the advanced options.

It doesn't feel as smooth as in a console, but it's way better than default.

I tried three different stick settings including "joystick move" and none of them had any impact at all on the digital nature of the walk stick.

I would still snap to 8 directions when moving (and only 4 directions if I lowered the in game stick sensitivity) just like before.
