You can hope out, fill up on items (you get fully healed on leaving too!) and then hop straight back into the dungeon.
The downside to that, at least for my tastes, is that you're forced to finish the dungeon in one "day", the story or even date doesn't progress until you do apparently (still in first dungeon).
They may not have thought about it. Or it may also be because exiting / re-entering also respawns enemies and they didn't want to add in a potentially confusing "refill SP but also respawn enemies" button, and wanted to keep the enemy respawning to have some limits.
