Black screen after 5th jail???

Hey guys, I just got finished the boss fight in the 5th jail, and as the transition to the real world happens, the game goes black and seems to freeze up. At first I thought it was because Steam went down for maintenance, but after trying again twice the same thing happens every time. Any help?

Seems like that crash can happen on non checkpoint returns to the real world. Just from what I have gathered from other threads and having it happen to myself once.

The 5th Jail one seems to be the worst. I am not there yet but hopefully they fix it by then.

I just think it's weird because the game has run fine up until now, but now I'm 100% stuck at the specific spot. I've tried playing windowed and using alt tab, but nothing worked. Guess I'll wait for a patch to come out.

Yeah ive tried that and I also lowered my graphics and downloaded previous drivers and nothing works.

Tried windowed, tried updating drivers, nothing works. I've been stuck here since yesterday. We just have to hope Koei releases a patch soon. This blows...

Yeah ive tried that and I also lowered my graphics and downloaded previous drivers and nothing works.

I’ve also heard that turning off full screen optimization works but it doesn’t make a difference for me. Hope a fix comes out soon because I’m having a great time with the game so far!

Have you tired it on another save file? I’ve been trying to find ways to get past this all day but nothing that seems to work for others works for me :( Hope a workaround or patch comes out soon

I had this same issue. I had to uninstall my Nvidia drivers and reinstall older ones. I used Display Driver Uninstaller (https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html) and 460.79 (WQHL) Drivers (https://www.nvidia.com/content/DriverDownload-March2009/confirmation.php?url=/Windows/460.79/460.79-desktop-win10-64bit-international-dch-whql.exe&lang=us&type=TITAN)

I wonder if it has something to do with the movies in the game cause they run weird anyway.

You could try disabling the movies in settings, I never thought to try that.

guys try alt tabbing when the screen transition happen and wait for a minute or two and alt tab back in. It works for me and other players too and im also playing in window borderless mode not sure if that help though.

I tried this as well. The only thing that ended up working for me was rolling back drivers. I kinda thought Atlus would've had a day one patch for this lmao
