How do I get my combat screen that explains your combat moves to go away, the x to close out with is too far to the right of my screen. It comes up when I go to the red squares, and I can't do anything else without stopping the game and starting over.

After leaving Connie's room and completing 6 months earlier, goes back to outside Connie's room and then to a black screen after repeating the same thoughts he had after leaving the first time. I tried both ways to help the future Empress, sorry, forgot her name, and from several different saves. Also tried full screen and windowed. Nothing works. Please advise. Kind regards, Di....
