The flower shop to the right at the back of the store, with your back to the door, sells things like Batteries, coins, and keys.
They are adding more things to the shops at this time. Don't know, if for example, the bakery gets an upgrade. The Critter center, in the Preview Beta, is now selling critter houses which I like very much :)
I'm also on gamepad.
I refer to things like those pillows you find that you "need 30 of to upgrade the inn" what does this mean and how do I use it?
Also it's good to know that they're adding things to the shops that make sense for the shops to sell but I wonder why that wasn't a thing at launch since building a critter center now feels like wasted space...
No specific action needed. It does not do much though, you get a bit more Myora from the buildings in your town though you can also claim a small reward and a task complete badge from your book for each upgraded building type.
By the time you found that many upgrade items you already swim in Myora.
Maybe in the future :)
