It would seem that sometimes the "you've beaten two games" prompt does indeed activate several games in. Fortunately, the endgame is triggered via achievements, so as long as they have all been unlocked (except for the final one), you should be fine.
Feel free to let us know if things keep working (or not) as we keep looking into it. Thanks again!
Similarly having issues with narration not popping as expected. I've gone through two partial cycles thus far (* = narration does not play as expected):
1: Sucker For Love -> Another Late Night -> Arcadletra* -> reset house
2: Arcadeltra -> Sucker For Love* -> Another Late Night* -> To The End of Days*
Do the games need to be completed (i.e. achievement pop) to trigger narration, or is it sufficient to start a game and exit? Could be helpful in figuring out where the wheels are coming off.
Still didn't get to hear any lore after that, though. I hope the audio is available in the game files.
Thanks for letting us know about your issues. Did you first play the Collection on the latest patch or did you start it before then?
Both of the concerns would indicate you are running a previous version, but we're open to hearing otherwise.
Are you running any sort of antivirus software? We've been hearing of file errors occurring on account of that.
And yes, if anyone else has experienced this and has only started the game yesterday, please comment as well.
Also I had a serious graphical bug in the game "Diving Bell", artefacts all over the screen. This can be tied to drivers for my video card or DirectX that needs to be updated tho.
Last note : I have no antivirus running, other then the microsoft defender software.
Nope, just default Windows Defender + good old common sense
2 games done - after 4 completed
1/3 done - after 6 or 7
After I got the last achievement I restarted the game and the door was finally unlocked. No voice speaking with me though.
Also... the box on the TV was opened and empty then.
Steam runs on my SSD together with Windows.
And I mentioned the box on the TV because it kept changing from closed to open.
If I reset my "puzzle progress" and start the house over, do all the puzzles, get the 11 keys again, and unlock and start+exit the games one by one, will I then get the dialogue? I shouldn't have to replay the games, right? How does the parent program detect whether a game is completed or not? Does it check the achievement stats? If so, this should be pretty trivial.
I've forwarded this on to the developers. Fingers crossed we can get to the bottom of this. Thanks again for chiming in and answering all my questions.
Braden, to answer your question: I thiiiink it's activated via achievements, but I could be wrong. Endgame is though and the basement door should still be unlocked when you re-start. If you want to test it, one game will still need to be beaten to open the rest of the house (one of the reasons I'm not certain about the dialogue). I recommend Sucker for love as it's quick to click through.
Cheers,

Wait, you have to beat a game to open the rest of the house? I just popped the tape in, nothing happened and the door opened, then I got the 11 keys, grabbed all the tapes, read the comic and played all 12 games in one long binge-fest. Did I break something?
Counter-recommendation: Charlotte's Exile. Game can be beaten in literally 5 seconds if you know The button combination to the launchpad.
