But seriously, how do I skip this one?
that game has the same stuff you said about squrriel stapler
except more one hit kills
I appreciate Squirrel Stapler as a whole in terms of what it's doing more than I enjoy playing it. I enjoy finding and reading the lore notes, I enjoy David Szymanski's works, and it's got some great sound design....but I just don't enjoy playing it. It's a good hunting game, but as someone who doesn't overall enjoy hunting games, I'm kind of neutral to it.
I will say that I am really happy that the game saves your progress after beating a day - I can only play a little bit at a time, so if I had to completely start over from Day 1 each time I would have lost patience.
I wouldn't call it the worst game in the collection (to me, that goes to Arcadletra, and that's simply due to the fact I just have not enjoyed the developer's games), but I can totally understand why some people view this as the best game and the collection and why some people think this is the worst.
Even if you are patient, like me, you still have to shoot, this attracts predators and, even if you sneak around, they find you and they take 3 bullets to kill. It's too much based on luck. Even if you know where the bullets are on the map and take care not to have less than 3, the predators still get you with their speed and their ability to take 3 bullets to kill.
Dread X 3 is really fun. Y'all should go buy that if you haven't already.
Sidenote: Having read some responses, I at least get why people liked this one. I still don't, but If it hadn't been between me and finishing the metaplot, I probably wouldn't have been such a spazz about it.
If you didn't make this thread, I would have made it. Anyway, Dread X 3 is criticized for having a rather stupid hub and the games look more cute than scary.
Aaaand, I have finished the damned Squirrel Stapler game. Die 3 times, less squirrel bears. And after every shot, sneak+run in order to move quicker than you do when sneaking, but without increasing the chance of being seen/heard too much. When you hear growling in the place you just left, kill the bear squirrel. It needs 3-4 shots, close shots seem to do most damage. It's also based on luck, like when I had 2 next to one another or when they get close too quickly without the trees somewhat messing their path finding.
Took me one hour to finish day 4 and 5.
I think I'll buy the forth game in the series, The Hunt.
As to Dread X 3, I am Halloween dork and a big fan of game jams in general, so I am enjoying the hell out of it. But I'ma buy The Hunt too.
