Starsand is still the best desert survival game on Steam, but nothing new will ever happen in this game. It's abandonware now.
any idea on what treatment will be? i havent seen anything on the discord.. but i havent checked in a while either
Here's the post where I learned that Starsand was silently discontinued behind the playerbase's backs;
https://steamcommunity.com/app/1380220/discussions/0/4206994256763526188/
The developer stated on the game's Discord that "To express our gratitude for your ongoing support, should a new game become a reality, we'll make sure Starsand supporters will get a preferential treatment"[i/].
They didn't even have the decency to post it on Steam, even though Steam was the only service that Starsand was purchased through. I could swear I read the same on Toplitz' own news feed on their site, but the story ism't in there now (maybe they wiped it when they noticed the blowback?).
They claim it's 1.0 so they could say they published it and get money. This plays like a beta at best, and there are plenty of beta games that are way more fleshed out than this game.
