Report a translation problem
In my humble opinion it is the "true" one. Especially if Munch stays a Guardian: allows more interactions in field of sparring and foolery with Lord DarkDread, martial artists and other NPCs and bosses, you know. ^^
Currently, it does not affect a thing and takes place beyond the gameplay, after the game is finished. Basically, you just choose the option you like more and that's it.
I hope I have succeeded in explaning what "staying a guardian" means. ^^
