Real Vanilla Plus mode

It would be nice if we could get a REAL Vanilla Plus mode, which would fully stick to the original aesthetic (menu, sounds, etc.) and turn off all the the non-vanilla changes that don't qualify as QoL (new enemies, Malta hub and what not). There's a mod on the workshop that aims to do that but it's kind of buggy and messy. I know that most of you don't see a real value in such mode, but it would be a great way to set the game up from the ground up for more advanced users to get the exact experience they want (and also to let the purists have a way to play the original with bugfixes, proper widescreen support and Windows 10/11 support).

I expressed myself incorrectly. I meant the Vanilla option for weapons. But the dev should add the whole Vanilla option like you suggested

I mean, I don't think it should be a singular option. I think it should be a whole sub menu where everybody can configurate the "level of purity" of the game. Like, I would like to keep the bugfixes and HD fonts and crosshairs, but set everything else to vanilla (and by vanilla I don't mean 100% pure vanilla, I mean something very closely reassembling vanilla that fits 16:9 aspect ratio and 4K standards).

Hey. A this tme I dont have the manpower to maintain compatibility of all this vanilla stuff with core mod. So even existing singular vanilla switch has issues. For some purists folks it is easier to just stick to iortcw.

How about backporting the improvements you've made in RealRTCW back to the original iortcw?

How about backporting the improvements you've made in RealRTCW back to the original iortcw?

I dont see the reason behind it. Besides no time to maintain second project.

I see a real value in such mode too! As long as there is no proper vanilla mode, you have to stick with iortcw + Venom mode. Then everything is vanilla with HD textures and all improvements, but no gameplay changes. :-) The textures in venom mode are better then in Real RTCW.
