Update Notes
RealRTCW 5.2 WIP

New:
-Added the ability to interrupt reloading by changing the weapon.

Survival:
New:
-Proper waves. They are divided now.
-Proper intermission between waves.
-Priests added for undead maps.

Balance:
-Default zombies cant use range attack now.
-Increased melee damage for undead.
-Fast Hands perk reload speed increased.
-Redone formula for calculating enemies per wave.

Misc:
-Display resolution lists updated.
-Cheat for giving yourself points added.
-Centralized backup prices for .surv files. No need to define them in .map.

Bug fixes:
-Secrets reward system code was refactored. It should fix the issue when players werent able to activate the changelevel trigger.
-Fixed the issue when music track was not playing in Survival.
-Fixed "gamefinished" and "endgame" crash.
-Game will no longer hard crash when character anim cfg file was unable to find a weapon. Only console warning will appear now.

Update 23/03/2025
-In Survival, collision is disabled for NPCs that are on the same team. This should fix all stuck issues for AI.
-New sounds for buying perk, picking up powerups.
-Discord button removed from the menu. Replaced by socials tab, that can be closed if needed.
-Credits menu redone.

New:
-Overhauled ammo stock logic. It wont be bought when you touch it - it will behave like all other buyables. On activation ammo stock will replenish the ammo for the weapon you are currently holding. LT class will get a 50% discount. Soldier class can resupply heavy weapons, while others cant. Price is doubled though.

Defiled Church (survival):
-Big gates removed
-Magic barrier added instead to reduce collision issues

-Characters torched by friendlies will no longer have infinite burn effect with friendy fire disabled.

Update 15/02/2025 - RealRTCW 5.1

Survival Mode
  • Infinite waves of enemies. Some maps feature human enemies, other - undead.
  • Earn points! Kill enemies with knife or with headshot to earn more!
  • Spend points! Perks, weapons, traps, friendly reinforcements.
  • Flame traps. Be careful not to burn yourself!
  • Friendly reinforcements. Two valiant soldiers to help you out to survive the onslaught!
  • Powerups. Enemies will drop powerups and treasures from time to time. Make sure to pick them up before they disappear to gain temporary buffs!
  • Perk system with 6 perks. You can only equip 3 at once. So choose wisely!
  • Player class system. Soldier, Medic, Engineer and Lieutenant. Each one with his own abilities. Hardcore players can play without any bonuses and abilities by choosing no class.
  • Four maps on release. Castle Wolfenstein, Kugelstadt, Defiled Church and Castle Keep. More to come later!

You can freely switch to vanilla guns models/sounds/stats through the gameplay menu in the main menu. No need to install any DLCs.

Malta HQ:
New map which serve as a hub between the chapters and as a new training map. Features multiple areas of interests.

Total Weapons reANIMATION
Most of the firearms were completely reanimated from scratch. New firing and handling sounds are part of the package too.

New Tesla, Dynamite and Venom models
Being the last weapons without proper HD models - they finally got them.

Throwing knives
Can be used by using altfire with knife selected.

Checkpoint system
Now the game will automatically save your progress throughout the levels and will load the last checkpoint on your death. F10 is now binded by default to load last checkpoint. Also short spawn protection was introduced to avoid unfair deaths on the player spawn.

Realistic Movement Mode
-Reduced movement speed
-Decreased Jump velocity
-Can't use weapons while on the ladder
-Can't use weapons while sprinting
-Weapons now have dedicated sprinting animations
-Can be turned on/off with g_realism

Health Regen System
This OPTIONAL system will allow you to play RTCW with a modern health regen mechanic and forget about health items for a while. It is very similar to classic CODs. Health items are disabled with regen. Handled with g_regen CVAR.

Bullet Falloff Overhaul
All weapons are affected by bullet falloff mechanic now. Each weapon has its own range now before bullet damage starts to fall off. Values for this parsed out to the .weap files. Can be turned on/off.

New inventory items
Adrenaline M-2, Adrenaline M-3. Adrenaline M-4

Maps:
Firing Range map removed. Replaced by Malta Firing Range.

Escape1:
-Pickup knife added

Village1:
-Pickup knife added

Boss1 (Olaric):
-Pit is blocked out now. You cant return.
-Ammo/health pickups added to the arena.
-Map theme is changed to winter one to match previous outdoors level - village1.
-Out of bounds area detailed.
-Visual improvements.
-End cutscene camera fov is reduced to conceal BJ's broken arm.

Forest:
-You no longer need to pick up Snooper Rifle. It will be given to you in one of the loadouts from the start.

Factory:

Boss2 (Uber Soldier):

* We can now see the reinforced guards spawn in the cutscene.
** Guard facing away from Herr Doktor faces the stairs.
* Guard in radio room positioned to see the whole room; "statetype relaxed" averts Willy breaking out of his two upcoming convos. (Danke, Willy!!!)
** Guards in Hans's room spread out in "relaxed" state, one given the Mauser after moving him from radio guy's place.
* Reinforce guard near first barrack soldier is behind him, watching the latter's back
* Guard that once stood outside the barrack radio room's window is now in the hallway; Mauser for him.

Escape2
* Nothing of note here, just some guards being set to start in "relaxed" states. This stops the fireplace guard from automatically "panicking" the soldier going to "polish his weapon"

Village1 (and S)
* Guards in café basement positioned to not look like they're supposed to stand in anyone's way, whether going up or down the stairs.
* 2 soldiers in civilian's house have been moved OUTSIDE the house. (What was the deeper idea behind THREE of them being in her house? Lovers? Just general enemies to shoot without shooting her?)
* Karl Villigut timing of voicelines modified; he tells you the Sten uses 9mm after picking it up.

Boss1
* Voiceline and camera timings adjusted to seem more natural, and Zemph no longer has Godmode. Health lowered so he bleeds after actually dying.

Rocket
* Better guard placements in the garage, and guards in tunnel no longer become roadkill if you ride the train. (Funny, but why be like deer in headlights? Hahaha!)

SWF
* Many guards who started in alert statetype are in "relaxed", and commented out debug print message. ("Who did this?", "I agree, who left this debug message in?")
* Fake BJ (in ending) aims his gun at the guy he's interrogating. (Welp, he only has 12 animations at most and I'm making the most of it.)

Boss2
* Soldiers spawn as the door opens instead of out of thin air. (Imagine us seeing these guys just poof in like that even in Co-op, couldn't be me. They start in combat state now, prepare your flamethrower.)

Dam
* Timing of conversation between delivery guy and officer modified.
** Did a bit of the same thing with mechanics in the dam tunnel.
* Reinforce guards on the dam grate below spawn after the player does, so they don't poof out of thin air. Moved around for easier stealth opportunity, and Mauser guy doesn't block guard who comes out to smoke.

Chateau
* Reinforce soldier spawns moved so "Corporal" can go see if Burkhalter has arrived, and not try to walk through reinforce guard like an idiot.
* Two officers' convo timing adjusted.

Dark
* Instead of the reinforce soldiers spawning after thunder strikes, they do it after the player spawns.

Castle
* Black Guard now gets actually killed instead of his entity removed and scream emitted by the zombie. (His model should've had a cowering animation there.)

RealRTCW 4.0. 04/08/2022

Steam API:
-Steam integration redone from scratch using Steamshim.

-Rewards for Secret Areas. Just like in "Tides of War" port, now you will recieve a specific set of rewards for finding all secret areas in the level. This feature is optional and can be turned off in the menu.

-Multiple weapon view positions. You can choose between three weapon positions in the menu: RealRTCW, MoHAA-like and good ol Quake1 view.

-Damage falloff for bullets. SMGs and pistols will get their damage reduced with distance. Controlled by g_weaponfalloff CVAR. Turned off by default.
