Is it on streaming devices? :)
It's not super hard, but you'd have to think about your team composition getting into the late game.
The game took me 30 hours to get 100%, including the 3.0 update. So I'd recommend getting it from a sale if you're not a huge fan from the show yet.
If that is true then I believe along the way, I got to know enough important things to know the story so far.
The first season I could watch fully, I'm not a fan of skipping to many episodes in a show and continue from there.
How much different is this here from the first two games?
I either started watching or finished watching the first game which appeared to be some kind of handy game? I avoided the second one so far because I heard of several bugs and don't remember many attempts to fix them.
I'm kinda interessted in this one now even if I'm not actively watching it right now.
Steven universe future seems to be better than I first thought from what I got to read, I was somehow wary of it at first.
edit: steven has to be in the party right? I remember him being not so active and more supportive in battle?
1. This one is more similar to the first one, it's quite linear instead of focusing on exploration like the second. By the time I played the second one I didn't find any bugs, and in terms of fun, mechanics, story, the whole shebang, I'd recommend the second one over this one imo.
2. As I said in a previous response, you'd have to finish the series fully to completely get it and enjoy it, you can read about stuff, but if you don't experience the show first hand it takes away some enjoyment. And if you don't watch Future or the last seasons of the original show, you're really missing out on the best of the series.
3. Yes, Steven has to be in the party. He always fulfils a support role, with some poke and aoe dmg, but it's nice to have him around for the items and heals.
