Lack of information about game's lore and storyline. Impossibility to find any wiki about game.
Excuse me for asking such question, but can I find somewhere info about game's lore? Like weapons/enemies/characters. All I get in my search is some weird game called "The Citadel: Forge of" something like that...

I don't know if I can be helpful with creating game's wiki... But if you're looking for people to get your game's position stronger in search (to be much more visible in searching lists) - I'd like to help. The only thing - I'm kinda locked with most of info about game at all. Most of parts are being known only from game itself, but not all of it.

If this topic isn't actual or being somehow agressive to developer - please delete that. Thank you.

plenty of information about the lore can be found in this interview:
https://nichegamer.com/doekuramori-interview-the-citadel-harassment-and-how-to-make-your-voice-heard-in-japan/
there is also a pretty extensive guide here on steam, but it's in japanese.
other than that, i think it's mostly up for the player to figure out.

I see. Thank you for sharing this information!

That article was certainly enlightening but it still leaves questions.
Also:
"The protagonist is an ancient relic who can live without cybernetics and keep frozen for centuries."
Does this mean the martyr is basically Captain America? LOL

Just finished the game and really want more. The secret menu certainly helps, but I want more of everything! And I do wish there was an alternate ending; the current one is just kinda sad. Heard something about a sequel in the works, anyone have any info on that?

as it should. some questions are better left unanswered, it's more fun that way.

here's the dev's twitter account dedicated to the sequel's development:

no clue what the sequel's going to be about or how it's going to tie into the first game.

I remember having read about the plot of the game some time ago, all I can really do is try to share what I remember from some twitter posts from the develloper

first detail I remember is that the plot is inspired by a western novel

also bear in mind everything I put here may very well have been retconned so take it with a grain of salt...

anywho: here's what I remember of the plot as was described by the develloper fairly long ago

The story begins many years prior to the game
God has turned his back on the earth and abandonned it, as a result things we took for granted all started to go to hell

The planet's rotation slowed to the point that one side of the planet was in perpetual day and another in perpetual night, leading to both sides becoming unsuitable for life due to extreme temperatures, only a thin band of the planet that is stuck in a eternal twilight has liveable conditions.

Human genetics started to rapidly deterriorate and cases of malformations and genetic diseases started to multiply at an alarming rate, further this genetic degenerescence had a more immediate if benign consequence of blurring the line between human genders to such an extent it became nigh impossible to indentify one's gender besides directly looking at their genitals...

and thoses are just some of the things that were going down

In the midst of the crisis, creatures that lived deep within the earth came to the surface to see just what was going on, however fearing the humans' reaction to their appearances, they proceeded to amputate chunks of their bodies and replace them with prosthetics in order to make them seem "more human", theses creatures would come to be known as "Angels"

After a short period of conflict with some of the surviving humans during wich Harkonnen (one of the game's bosses and an Angel) found death, humanity threw their lot in with the Angels who had a plan

The source of all the problems on earth was a lack of a god to oversee it all, thus the solution was simple
Create a new god to watch over the earth

the Angels assured humanity that they would be able to do it, however the process would be long and experimental

Humanity could be wiped out in the meantime and as such measures had to be taken to slow down the genetic death of humanity as much as is possible

one such measure is the creation of "Martyrs", their task is to retain human genetics as much as is possible and if possible, give birth to offspring with "healthy" genetics to allow mankind to endure and avoid genetic death

Due to their roles in preserving the human genome, Martyrs were deemed absolutely vital and were thus kept as safe as was possible, one such way to keep them safe was a
high-end military training making them into the best trained combatants humanity had to offer, military augments to further improve their combat potential and a permanant link to a pattern buffer in a base of the Angels
(examplified in-game by having to restart a level when you die and have no pattern buffer active in a level, meaning the martyr had to trek all the way back down the citadel to that level, during wich citadel troops would just repopulate the area you died in)

Their role in fighting off genetic death has also earned them a great deal of respect and worship as they are seen as the sword-arm of the angels, if a Martyr shows up it means they are either looking for potential genetic material or a bloodbath is about to occur....

I MAY have forgotten a few things but thoses are the broad lines I do remember ...

i found a chart describing relationships between characters and groups in the game and some parts of the setting. apparently, it was made by the dev a good while ago, but i couldn't find the exact source.
however, it does match the info from the post above and the handwriting looks like doekuramori's, so i'm willing to believe it.

LMFAO - and i was really convinced by the level headed and well written note in the article too. I was surprised that there wasn't some other stupid "gamer's rights" angle like everything else on that wasteland of a weebsite. Seemed straight up

anyway, i'm starting to think the world of doujin is really full-on chaos lmao
