Hunger is there as a bit of a "timer" to urge you to get on with it and also to get in your way of looking for secrets and secret levels
Regarding reloading, sure at first it'll feel awkward but once you get the SlowMo upgrade then thoses weapons will become your favorite in no time flat for one simple reason, during slowmo the reload speed isn't capped so theses weapons can "technically" reload 3 or 4 clips worth of ammo under a second, further mashing the fire button during slowmo can ignore the gun's intended maximum fire rate...
I'm not one to usually go for a game's hard mode, but this here was the exception, even did a run with weapon jamming on the highest difficulty and had my fun with it...
This could even be a great hentai game as far as I'm concerned lol
Also, regarding the difficulty - I don't wanna show my ego (at least not that much), I usually play games at Normal to Hard (until it feels unfair), but with this game, the Zealot difficulty with weapon jam and all still felt like Medium/Normal at best (for me), because there was still plenty of ammo and money (after exchanging unneeded ammo), enemy bullet velocity wasn't that fast nor their reaction time, usually had "spare" health to goof around.
