Getting GnG:Resurrection to play on Surface Go 2
So I'm on a quest to be able to get Ghosts'n'Goblins: Resurrection to play on my Surface Go 2. My first attempt was to get it saved to a micro SD card so I wouldn't be taking up extra room on the system but, unlike a smaller game, like "Expendabros" and a couple others Makaimura won't open unless installed on the local C drive. After I downloaded to the main drive, the resolution didn't fit my entire screen and the animations looked choppy. That was just getting to the menu...my keyboard wouldn't respond well with the menu as well. I found a video online about GeforceNow where you can stream your games to the tablet but thats if you're on a local connection. The goal is to get the game totally portable, no wifi involved on this small device, otherwise i'll just end up dragging the 15in laptop with me. Anyone have thoughts/suggestions?

Thanks for the response! At this point I became less worried about taking up space and getting it to run better. but it doesn't look like it's happening. I started following a curated list on steam for a bunch of playable games for the Surface Go so i'm looking into that. I also found that there's an Ultimate Doom bundle which would probably run fairly well considering those are smaller games that don't require a lot of processing power.

heres the link to the curated list

Given the minimum system requirements for the game, I think the graphics solution in the Surface Go 2 simply doesn't have the power to get the job done.

The Intel UHD Graphics 615 is an integrated solution that does fine for general computing tasks (like web surfing, e-mail, office apps, etc.) but not so well for contemporary gaming. Lighter games like the aforementioned Ultimate Doom and even some more recent titles with lower system requirements should be possible on the Surface Go 2. However, the graphics solution for this system is nowhere near the performance spec of the GTX 760 that is required by GnG:Resurrection.

To give you an idea of what gaming performance looks like on the UHD 615, scroll towards the bottom of the page at this link: https://www.notebookcheck.net/Intel-UHD-Graphics-615-GPU.317064.0.html

I wish I had a trick or some setting changes to suggest, but given the delta between what the Surface Go 2 has and what the game requires, it's most likely a no-go unfortunately.

Thanks a lot Neildittmar! Yes I agree, I essentially gave up on having GngR play as I found other titles not as graphically demanding worked better. I greatly appreciate your insight and the link provided. I will definitely look at it. In relevance to the topic, just downloaded Myst: Masterpiece edition; the old PC game. That is fun to play on the surface right now. I got the Xbox game pass , 3 months for a dollar so I could install and test some stuff. Doom 64 also ran well but, one of them didn't run well in windowed mode. I forget which... Thanks for commenting! gonna continue my search!
