We are very sorry you are having this issue with your Xbox One controller.
Try the following steps in this order to address the issue:
1. Open Steam in Big Picture mode.
2. Once Big Picture is open, go to settings.
3. Click on controller settings.
4. Here make sure the Xbox Configuration Support box is ticked and the rest of the boxes unticked.
5. Go back to your Steam Library, click on Paw Patrol Mighty Pups, and click on the option 'Manage game'. Here click on the option 'Controller options' and make sure it is on 'Global Settings (Xbox)', not on 'Forced on' or 'Forced off' as we have seen sometimes it is set on this option causing the controller to malfunction.
6. With this set attempt to play.
Please get back to us if this does not help address the issue.
Thanks.
Hi, we are sorry our instructions did not help address your issue.
There are some further actions you can try:
a) Enable controller support in Big Picture Mode
This is helpful when the wrong button prompts show up or the controller is not detected at all.
b) Controller detected as Player 2 - Disconnect other devices
Disconnect all other USB devices from the PC before launching the game. Some USB devices could be mistakenly detected as a controller. This may also help when the controller is not detected at all.
c) Connect the controller before starting Paw Patrol Mighty Pups. Do not connect it while the game is starting as this may lead to issues.
d) Reinstall the drivers
1. Right-click the Windows start button
2. Select Device Manager
3. Find your controller in the device list
4. Right-click the controller and select Uninstall device
5. Restart the PC with the controller plugged in, the drivers will be re-installed automatically.
We hope this helps.
Thanks for this! I was having the same problem on the Xbox Gamepass version of the game. In my case, the other "controller" was a Razer Orbweaver keypad.
With the controller connected;
1. Open Devices and Printers
2. Right Click on your controller and click on 'Game Controller Settings' (This will list installed controllers)
3. Click on Advanced
4. On the drop down list select your controller that you want to have priority.
5. Click OK and then OK then open the game.
Hopefully this will help you.
