i thought it would be free ??? Why it cost money?? Wont play! They said it would be free!

It's not an mmo. It was never going to be a free to play game. It also has no reoccurring subscription. So yes, box price.

In the EA Hub they even quote:
Early Access will be cheaper than full release. They dont even mention f2p anywhere
