A problem that could've easily been solved by reading the very first sentence in the Store Page description.
got you.
Shared Runescape Lore? Check
Has Runescape in the name? Check
Magic needs Runes crafted from Rune Essence? Check
Yep, this game has nothing to do with Runescape at all.
No this was some 3rd party game that you guys continue to try to justify
I'm just calling you stupid for saying this game has nothing to do with Runescape.
If that's what you get from it, sure. Just tell me you haven't played the game without telling me you haven't played the game.
If you expect it to be exactly like the MMO in every aspect then you might as well just go play OSRS or RS3.
But when you're ready to actually open your eyes and read what's put in front of you (something that seems hard for you since you didn't even read the store page), then maybe the game will make more sense to you why it's another island.
IMO I do love what we have here because it continues the lore after the events of RS3, and introduces us to a lot of new stuff we didn't learn about in the MMOs, especially about Guthix.
I'm actually willing to call it a true sequel to the namesake, rather than just an "upgrade" like RS3 was to RS2/OSRS.
Not some random island never talked about that threw in a bunch of assets and then isn't runescpae at all.
You must really love game sequels that introduce new areas to their in-game universes lol.
hint Sequels tend to share gameplay.
Not all sequels have the same gameplay, and likewise not all sequels are called "a sequel".
Sequels do however all continue the story in some way.
Hint, read the game's lore scraps and do the game's quests and you can easily tell it is indeed meant to be a continuation of the MMO's story.
Fun Fact, Final fantasy has nearly 20 games, not all of them share the same gameplay, and all of them tell a similar or continued story in the same universe. Some are turn-based games. Some are ARPGs. There's some tactical games. There's a couple fighting games, and at least 2 MMOs. All of them share the same story.
Try again dear.
also if you want lumbridge so bad, pick a spot bordering the first swamp and build it yourself. then you can call it New Lumbridge.
