- There is only one main boss to fight and it's not a particularly tough one to beat.
- Magic and archery skills aren't added in the game. Bows are in the game, but they don't really do much other than have a bonus from the medium armor. To clarify on this, magic is in the game, it's just that combat magic has no associated skill.
- Skills are capped right now because it's still very early access. As a result, you hit a brick wall fairly early.
- Dungeons generally all feel the same visually with the only big difference between early ones and later ones being platforming.
- Very limited server settings.
Pros:
- It's a lot of fun solo and even more fun if you have friends to play with.
- Game looks good. Bloom needs to be toned downed a little, but it still is a pretty game.
- Combat is smooth (albeit limited atm) and easy to pick up with some minor skill needed to parry or hit weak spots with the bow.
- Crafting is pretty engaging with a lot of do and make with secret recipes throughout the world.
- The structure building is solid. Think Valheim but with less grind (and options at the moment).
- A lot of quality of life things introduced into the game at launch that make the game less of a chore so you can actually play the game.
So would I recommend it? For me, I've enjoyed it. The game is pretty far from being finished and isn't going anywhere (as far as I know), so you definitely could afford to wait if $30 is a lot to you. If $30 isn't a lot to you and you don't mind jumping in and then giving it a break between updates, then yeah, it's worth playing.
