Found a Strange Object - Quest or Scenery??

Delving into the Whispering Woods, there be a cave. One thing to note about it is that besides from one inhabitant, it receives....moonlight. Guarded by the shaman peering into the background, my buddy and me found them staring into a large pillar of rock.

Defeating him and inspecting it further, we found it to be a rune...a large stone taller than the games character, and depicting moon cycles: Old Moon, Waning Moon, New Moon, Half Moon...and a black stone where the Full Moon is supposed to be.

Did I miss a quest line somewhere, or is this just really cool scenery? Either way I feel like making this a base with how deep the shadows dwell there for one half of the day. Then get illuminated with faint light which emits from just in front of the rune pillar around the cave.

Not sure how to post a screenshot but will see about adding it, as this is pretty badass...If anyones interested - till then, party on Runescaper's

Sounds like a cool spot. I think I've done every quest and I don't recall ever going to a spot like that unless it was part of the Spear of Light quest. That one bugged for me and instantly completed so I didn't actually get to do it. It could be for a future quest, or maybe a Runescape Easter egg (never played Runescape so thats a wild guess).

It's part of the Goblin Diplomacy quest.
You can start it by talking with Zanik on the hill nearby the swamp in Bramblemead.
I won't spoil it for ya, but that cave and the Shaman within are part of that quest. Have fun!
