RuneScape: Dragonwilds

RuneScape: Dragonwilds

Game crashes on startup
~20 hours ago I got a blue screen of death about 1 second after using the "quit to desktop" button to leave the game.

I restarted my computer after the crash, and ever since then I have not been able to play.

Firstly, when the game initially loads the Jagex logo it stutters(the animation freezes for a second)
Second, when I get into the lobby and hit play the game instantly crashes. I tried repairing the install and it did not fix the stutter at the logo or stop the game from instantly crashing when I hit play.

I think it might have something to do with my house in the game. There are probably 5000+ objects it's like an 8 story tall 50x50 wide castle and the game had been taking a while to load it in when I used a portal to get there. Idk just a thought cause I think that's where my player is when I'm trying to log in.

So little more context. I created a new world in the menu and I'm able to load a fresh world and play the game, so I think it is the house I built that broke it. Please look into this though, and let me know if there's a way to restore a world to a previous working form, because I put like 60 hours into my house so far and it was pretty freaking cool

You could attempt to try the .backup file of the world. Check in your default drive (typically c:)>users>yourname>AppData>Local>RSDragonwilds>Saved>SaveGames. Can make a copy of your world file if you want before trying. Remove the original world file and then remove the .backup part of the backup file so it's now the main world file to try to load.

Probably safe to say the original was corrupted when you BSOD. While I have not had it happen with dragonwilds, I have with another game and my save for it was utterly corrupted in the same manner. That game didn't have backups.
