There is a horrible toxic community within this games player base, and although some of this cannot be helped. There needs to be some care taken to protect new players before they lose the motivation to continue playing. I have tried to help new players constantly only to have other players join their game, access their belongings and rob them blind, taking everything, even going as far as to dismantle bases and leave them with nothing. Then leave the game and take the loot with them.
I suggest protection from any player entering someone else's game to be able to dismantle any structure another player has made, and to have password protection on chests to prevent any foreign player from taking what they didn't work to acquire. Only then can players feel assured they will receive the help they need. leave the Griefers to PVP only servers.

Don't play these type of games with strangers, simple as that. Limit it to friends only. That being said, this isn't something new in online games. griefing is as old as online gaming is.
