Goblin Diplomacy

I believe I did the two objectives in reverse order, or maybe did both objectives before speaking to Zanik at all.
I didn't get the quest rewards, and as far as I'm aware, I have no way to tell if I was ever actually given the quest (no completed quest history).
More details of current state; Zanik now has unrelated dialog and doesn't acqknowledge the amulet in my inventory after killing the cave druid a second time, the 'first' amulet is missing from behind the vines, the two caged goblins only tell me they're planning their escape, I never got the opportunity to feed Bilegut.
Anyone else run into this problem? Is there a workaround?
