According to the discord, we just got an announcement within the last week telling us that the upcoming 0.8.0 update will have Steel, Mithril, Magic fully unlocked, higher XP progression, 2 new Spells for skilling, a new area (Fellhollow) and new enemy types (undead and possibly minidragons).
We may see that update either this month or next month. But it's coming fairly soon ish.
I wouldn't expect weekly updates for this kind of game. It's not an MMO, and honestly this is Jagex's first attempt at a true ARPG. I'm not surprised if it takes them a while.
It's a lose lose situation for dev teams. Provide no dates and players complain, provide a date and have to delay and players complain.
Just be patient and wait for the announcement when an update actually happens.
I don't play my games on Discord, the info should be available where it is played.
Don't know what to tell you. You wanted updates, I told you where to get them. Don't wanna go on their discord, then oh well. Join and stay updated, or don't and wait til they make major announcements in Steam. Your problem not mine.
People choose not to use Discord for whatever reason. They should not be forced to use something they don't want to.
As we have acquired the game here on Steam, which has a forums section for devs to use that allow players to express feedback, bug reports etc. The devs should be making an effort to post on steam also.
Devs failing to do that could leave a feeling of alienation among players and that the feedback is not being heard. Not communicating properly or not listening to your players is a good way to lose players.
If the devs don't want to visit Steam, they can assign one or more people as moderators here on Steam, they can then be the middle person for communication. I used to be a Steam moderator for a different game, I'm familiar with what is possible from that point of view.
