Warband is attacking you.
What this actually means is the game has decided to delete you. Go collect your corpse do not pass go, do not collect $200 oh and don't forget to repair your house after

Clearly no testing was done of this. However the good news is once you respawn, the warband has left.

Player housing defenses are part of the roadmap, and will be added. Generally, since these are not added yet - if you ever see this message you're better off getting outside and fighting them in the open.

Very frequent grip atm, but really not much more to say atm - the features that would remove this frustration are planned - until then just go outside quick to fight them.
It's early access, we paid to do the testing.

I agree. But once you get 2-3 behind you.. it's respawn time. Best is to use bow, train them around and kill. But eventually you're out of stamina and it's respawn time.. lol.

Overall not very impressed, yes it's EA etc but that's no excuse for shoddy design.
How are you having problems with the warbands? Are you AFK and they are coming to kill you? Are you in a high level area where your base is and do the Warbands scale with the zone you're in?

Cause I have no had any problem with the baby lvl 1 warbands that come for me in the noob zone where I built my house. I fixed up the house the Old Wise man is sitting in.

Good for you. I am getting warbands in that same area with 5-6 orcs/goblins, some are warriors with axes, they do 25% damage per hit, get 2 behind you and you're dead. Nothing you can do.

best strategy is build a sort of tower defence system, to lure the goblins onto, then just machine gun them down with the bow. Or else run away from your base when attacked, let them gank you and respawn or if you want try to kill with the bow.

I have the bone plate armour as well as bone weapons.

ok i'ma make this game easy for you.... find any area that is covered and elevated or has a gap with water or air so warbands and dragons can't get to you gg. pretty much been everyone's work around i think?

I was genuinely asking how you're having a hard time cause maybe something is different between my game and yours. And I also still don't know if warbands change lvl if you build in different lvl zones. Idk from noob zone until end game I didn't have a problem with them.

First wave is like 5 warriors and second is like 4 warriors and 4 archers. I just kited them around until I killed them. Now that I have end game gear since I beat the game they are just a nuisance.

I would say try to get the crystal bow since you can kill the entire wave in 3 special moves with it. And that boss mob that you need to kill to make it is kinda hard but I soloed him when I was in starter gear with stone weapons. It took a long time and 2 hits were death but it was fun. Its like playing Elden Ring or Dark souls. Just have to jump in and out after 1 or 2 swings.

I don't like using exploits in the design to beat the game. I think the game is designed poorly for sure, but they must have an idea as to how they expect the player to play and this cannot be it.

Kited.. that's the word I was looking for. Yeh this seems the only way to deal with the raids.. run backwards, spam arrows or magic at them. In fact it's pretty much the tactic of the entire game at the moment. Don't let them in your base, you'll probably do more damage to it than they do.

Ultimately the easier system is run 50m from your base. Let them kill you. Respawn. Pick up your stuff.

Using terrain is not an exploit, it's a strategy. If they see it as a problem they'll remove the ability to build on high areas or create flying warbands (which lets be real we might see that in Fellhollow since they're introducing mini-dragons as common enemies).

Yes Warbands do scale with areas. In Temple Forest, Bramblemead, and Whispering Swamp it's always Goblins. In Fractured Plains onwards it's always Garou. I'm imagining that the Fellhollow onward is gonna be undead and minidragons, since that's what they're planning to give us in 0.8.0.

THE EXCEPTION to this is in Fractured Plains if you walk along the edges overlooking the swamp it'll give goblins instead

It's a beta Early Access game. We have about 10-15% of the playable planned content. Things are gonna be a bit janky and off-putting for a while.

That being said I only have problems with Warbands when I'm building, because I'm usually weighed down by about 800lbs of materials used for building lol.

My normal strategy is though. Drop what I'm doing as soon as the text comes up, Run outside, and they will not touch your base. I don't care if I die trying to defend against them, as long as I run outside they never touch the base.
Treat it like a Fire drill. The second you see the text, have an exit plan and leave the building immediately.

After that is up to you. Either you fight them and win, die trying, or run out of their wander area. Even Warbands have a wander area, and if you leave it they leave you and your house alone. You also can teleport and they leave too.

So in last attack there were 12 4-5 archers, the rest were the axe warriors.

You don't need to make excuses for the devs. This is a very shoddy game. End of. But there are aspects I do enjoy so far. Clearly I'm not alone in my feelings of this, there are several streamers saying exactly the same thing I am. And there is the lack of players.. 2500 a week after release.. of runescape players? There should be 100k plus.. but clearly the game.. isn't quite there yet, I'd say this is a very bare bones alpha.. almost a demo in fact.
Step 1: Craft a staff and a ton of fire runes (less damage, but bigger AoE/DoT).

Step 2: Slot Wind Step on the top or bottom of your spell wheel - whichever you feel most comfortable to open the spell menu and quick-cast.

Step 3: The moment you get the alert of being hunted or raided - cast Wind Step and jump on top of a monument, large rock pillar, or some other structure.

Step 4: ??? Profit.

Just like OSRS / RS3, you can safe spot enemies by casting AoE abilities down below - wiping out the entire raid without being touched... until they can reduce the spawn rates of this bs mechanic.

You're welcome!
I've put up Cheval de frise around the base of my house using support beams. I'm not sure if they can attack those or not but it cuts down on having to repair or replace so often.

There isn't even 100K plus players in both of the MMOs combined dude lol why would you expect 100K here?. and this game isn't for everyone. Survival crafters are usually notoriously hard or unfair, some outlier exceptions. I'd say the only reason RS players are even playing is because it says RuneScape on the Tin, and at least half of them or less even play Survival Crafters outside of MineCraft. Maybe Palworld.

I'm, not making excuses for the devs though, I'm just stating facts. If you expected a finished game when you grabbed it or even a partially polished game, then you were sadly mistaken lol.
