No need for further testing, many others have reported about this issue. I have also experienced the same thing. It's a bug that need to be addressed. The type of shield doesn't matter either.
I guess this is not a bug, but intented from the devs. But this is a urgent must, that has to change ... also that dodging cancel all other actions.
Even with a slight pause after attack animations are done, blocking with a shield doesn't work.
Ok, after the end of the animation blocking worked fpr me. But no chance to cancel animation.
Depends on the enemies. I block for example 100% of goblin and rats damage. But not from the blue elementals in the vaults. Guess goblins make physical damage and the other elemental damage --- and you can't block elemental damage as in most games?
