That's.. insane if it's true.
I can't imagine a company would just release a game on early access for steam, and then just.. not have it so people in other regions can connect to each other.
I expect a company to be upfront and clear about its multiplayer capabilities and the state that they release their game in. Intentionally hiding the fact that multiplayer is only for people in the same region from its playerbase seems scummy and makes me not want to support the game.
