HELP PLEASE-Basic building unlock

So I found a resource world file for this game that I wanted to try out to see what I could build and what all I could do with max level skills. I used tomes to max my skills out, put each resource in my inventory to unlock all builds (or so I thought) and attempted to start building. But I noticed I do not have basic building, aka regular size walls, floors, foundations, etc. But yet I have access to all the medium, small, and other builds you would get much later on.

Does anyone know why?

In the mp world with my friend I swear we got access to that very early on if not basically right at the start.

Well yea if you cheat then yea crap ain't gonna work right.
Everything unlocks based on finding a material, with the exception of a few things unlocked from recipe scrolls and Quest rewards.
Just play the game normally and it unlocks naturally. But if you cheat in a bunch of items, then yea your recipes and build blueprints are gonna look borked until you play the game as you normally would and find materials as you normally would.

I just went into the resource world that I downloaded. I did it because I don’t have the time available to play/progress in my own world, I barely have the time to play with my friend in our multiplayer world.

To test the basic building unlock I made a new character and made a fresh world and got to the quest where you are tasked to build a house. And I still did not have the basic building pieces…….i feel like that makes no sense. Am I missing something?

Yes. your recipes are based on what you as a character collect. Meaning if you download a world, you don't download the recipes with it. You still have to play to unlock recipes, and building blueprints.
So just play the game lol. Stop cutting corners.

I understand what you’re saying, but everyone has a different way they want to play. I am a big fan of creative modes in survival games, there isn’t anything wrong with that, we don’t all have the kind of time to play our own solo worlds and grind it out. but like I said, I made a new character and a new world (not the resource world but a regular one) joined the world and got to the point where I should have had basic building unlocked (or at least I assumed I should have) and I still don’t have it.

I gathered wood and stone, and unlocked the quest to build a house and yet I have no build pieces at all….

I'm not saying you can't play to be a builder, I build all the time. Creative mode is on the way on the roadmap, and I understand what you mean.

What I'm trying to tell you, is that cutting corners like you did, is bound to break something. If you download a world file, you're likely to break something that messes with your flow of progression, and as you're seeing it's preventing you from unlocking the basic of building tools that only unlocks by picking up a single piece of Ash wood. That's my point.
I'm not telling you not to cheat because it's bad. I'm telling you not to cheat because it's obviously breaking your save lol. I don't care how you play, if you want to hack in 100 full stacks of everything be my guest. You came for advice, and I'm telling you it's breaking your save lol. If you find a way around it your own way, then I'm happy for you. But my take is, just play normally, because this early in development, anything you do is easy to break the game if you just cheat stuff in.

Yeah that’s fair, I didn’t mean to come off defensive, I thought you were implying something you weren’t so apologies.

But even when I made a new character and world and did it the intended way I still didn’t unlock the basic builds. That’s the part that’s not making any sense to me. I went through the early stages of the game just like I did with my friend in our multiplayer world and I can’t complete the quest to build a house because I have no build pieces lol.

This is on a new world and character? Absolutely fresh world/character?

Yeah fresh character and fresh world. I created both after I encountered that issue to see what it took to unlock the basic building and see if it was a bug because of what I did. And with that fresh character and world I’m at the point where I have to build a shelter but I have literally zero build pieces….and I’ve gathered wood.

Possible something got corrupted then.
If picking up wood and stone, and following the questlines didn't unlock it, try verifying your files. If that doesn't work you may need to try reinstalling.

To verify your files, go back to your Steam Library.
Right click RuneScape Dragonwilds in your library list, and hit properties.
Go to Installed files, and press the Verify file integrity option.

After you verify your files, try the game again, maybe on another new world/character to be safe.
If that doesn't work, try reinstalling.

I should also mention if you have any mods it's possible they messed with something too. Not saying you have, but I say that as a precaution.

Yeah I’ll have to give that a try tomorrow. I’m haven’t/am not using any mods. Hoping this will be an easy fix. I just couldn’t find any confirmation on what exactly needs to be done to unlock the basic building tab online so I wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing something that I forgot about. Thanks for the help though, I’ll give that a try tomorrow and if that doesn’t work I’ll be back here again lol.

Yea no worries.
It should technically unlock as soon as you have wood, but you don't normally need to build a base until you get the quest in Bramblemead from the Wise Old Man.

If verifying your files or reinstalling does not fix the issue, I'd report it as a bug on the Official Runescape Dragonwilds Website or on the Official Discord server.

To be honest you'll probably get a lot more help from the Discord, in my experience the people there tend to be helpful and nice.

That’s what I thought, that’s why I was so confused, and to be sure I progressed far enough to unlock the quest from the wise old man in bramblemead to build a shelter and I still didn’t have the builds, so at that point I was lost.

And Oh okay awesome yeah I’ll try that then instead. Tbh I didn’t know where else posts about this kind of stuff could be answered since the game is still very new and early access. But thank you I really appreciate all the help and guidance!

No worries! Hope the fixes work so you can continue building!
Consider posting some builds you do in the Build Share channel if you join the Discord by the way, I love looking at people's builds there, and believe me the channel is very active with builders lol

I figured it out I’m so dumb. I built a crafting station but apparently I never interacted with it even though I was positive I did…….im actually brain dead

Lol no worries. How did you progress the quests though? You were supposed to make a mace for one of the quests before the base-building one and kill rats. You had to interact with the table for that no?
