This is one part of the clunky and strange combat in RS (one other is the small delay after button pressing and dodge roll). In every modern action combat game dodge, block and parry ALWAYS interupt/cancel every other combat action. Here not. You get "stucked" in many animations and combat feels not fluid and good. Should be changed asap.
If you click multiple times, it queues up another action on anything.
My advice for now is just don't click more than you need to.
For example when mining iron with an Iron pickaxe, I know that Iron ore will break after 2 swings or 1 critical swing. I swing once, if I see a 50 damage, I swing again, if I see a 100 I press nothing.
And believe me, I know the gamer brain of wanting to spam your click or button presses. I'm guilty of that too lol. It took a lot of self-control to play Dragonwilds with precision clicks instead of instinctively pressing more than once.
Yeah It's a massive issue. While you can still technically have some "skill" in combat, you're pretty much F'ed if you're facing multiple mobs. At this point, all skill goes out the window. If you're playing conservatively then you won't be able to chain combos because you need to parry/block. If you're chaining combos then you can't parry/block. Either remove 1 of the feature or just allow interruption in the attacks.
