Special Items Becoming Outdated

Something that I'm afraid for, is special quest weapons & armor becoming outdated, as the game grows.

Clearly we're getting more biomes/map, and difficulty, as EA marches on. Which means, your favorite gear is gonna be thrown away. I didnt like this in Valheim, and I'm pretty sure the same thing is gonna happen here.

If anything, I hope they implement an upgrade system for select gear. Maybe needing materials from the next areas, to upgrade it. I think that would be fair, since that wont take away from exploring new regions.
