As someone who needs a controller to play games properly I would say no. I just gave it a go now and it was too difficult. Some features are not working such as the menu and picking stuff up from the ground.

Combat and movement work well.
Moving storage to inventory is broken.
The crafting button does not function. It inputs but nothing is crafted.
No Crouch
Some things that would help:
Be able to freely move from storage window to inventory window leveraging the D-PAD.
More D-PAD utilization instead of right stick analog.
Easier way to split items
Fix crafting input
This is on an Xbox Wireless Controller connected via Bluetooth.
So a lot of work to do yet for controller support that's fluid.
