Best place to build a base?

as everyone mentioned, starting point yeah. I myself did build a small house in the second area near the wise old man. You know for the resources and such. And to ward off the warband raid, i made this staircase thingy/4 high rooftop as attack point. By the time they reach me they're dead. Maybe this might give you an idea as to build strategically

That place is insanely abundant of materials such as; Cabbage, Potatoes, FLAX ESPECIALLY FLAX (for making thread which is literally used for everything). Hundreds of chickens, and cows for easy food. Simply build on the side of the river before the bridge crossing over, and you're basically golden, have everything you could want for early game building stuff within seconds of away from your base.

I can't see any point in building a base near the beginning church/temple, sounds like a terrible idea.

The goblin raids, and Dragon attacks aren't too scary once you get a bone dagger (which again NEED FLAX FOR), considering they die in 3 hits, and the Dragon is stupidly easy to evade, and from what I can tell his poison damage doesn't break, your structures.

I did the same thing and it's been great! The attacks are super easy once you can make that goblin axe and mow multiple enemies down at once!

a good tip, if you want to build in the more dangerous areas make sure theres a rock or something you can gain access to via the superjump spell close by. as soon as a warband raid gets declared run outside jump onto the rock. theyll congregate around you and ignore your base. easy to pick off.

yep, same here. i built in the meadow right next to the ruined building, along the stone fence line, an abundant source of basically everything. great spot

In Fractured Planes, there is a vault with BIS melee armour in it. The vault location itself, right outside, is safe from all mobs once you build a base there. No raids, no mob spawns, completely safe. Just have to get there is all.

do u still get the dragon attacks?, i just built at the begaining and just got mobs lv 1 its like fighting rats with powerful stuff, trick is getting the teleportation going, as i just did that

There's a cave near the old man that gives you the quests though it's locked away by vines and you'll need the wind jump to access it. Probably one of the better places as it's near all the resources of the area, plus three water sources inside it. Also immune to Raids but sadly not to phase shifting acid bombs from our beloved dragon that still strikes even in death.

And way to small for a good base with all workstations, chest and when farming (see roadmap) arrive - and dark and ugly as hell ;) So better at the starting location, many space to spread and ready for acriculture later on.

On top of the run-down brick tower in Bramblemead, the one with the Wise Old Man in it.

I used support beams to build myself a big ol' tree house base on top of that brick tower. Enemies can't touch me or my base there because they can't jump over the gap in the floor to get up there. Build a teleport pad and you can just use that as a protected HQ for everything.

I built mine near the old man, in the middle of the map and next to a lake because you can get water easily and move faster to the points where quests are given / done.

Up against a cliff! Makes base attacks ez, and dragon fire misses often and hits the cliff top.

i built next to first area temple and am still there, still get a warband now and then and had the dragon follow me to the temple and just circle but didnt attack.

On water. The hordes are slowed in the water, ez AOE pile with Fire Rune and Staff.

THIS lol. Been my home since the game came out. Not too small at all. Ive got all crafting stations, two of some, a teleport and chests. ZERO worries of attacks or base being destroyed. Just wish dragon attacks ddint hit since it is you know.. a cave lol
