Can we upgrade our tools yet?

Hit that level 3/4 zone. Can't seem to figure out how to upgrade my tools. Also here is a tip, exit to desktop when you want to pause. Ez.
Game is fun, I can't harvest anything right now though, any tips or have I hit this beta's end?

The tool recipe should unlock when you get the metals required to make them. Copper/Tin into bronze ingots and Iron into iron ingots. When you forge them into ingots it should unlock the recipes. You need the bone pickaxe to mine the copper/tin, that should be unlocked pretty early once you get bones.

Can you explain that to me in detail..i just got to the Tin and copper..but i can not mine it..also learned weapon stuff which i got from cheesing dungeons (using traps to kill enemies) but dont have recipe for yet.. would greatly apperciate that info but ill also search the forums in case someone posted it already

upgrade to the bone pickax to mine tin and copper, smelt it in the forge to make bronze bars then you can make bronze tools. Use bronze tools to mine iron, smelt in forge to make iron bars, make iron pickaxe and axe to mine dragon tooth and the blood tree sap or whatever. I believe bone pickaxe might be at the crafting table and the rest might be at the anvil after unlocking bronze.

I got to the Bronze Pickaxe and Axe, and a RL pal who I hadn't realised was playing the game himself gave me an Iron Pickaxe and Axe. I've stashed those for later on in the game.

I got the recipe for a bone pickax but not the bone axe. It is weird. I have leveled my wood cutting along with mining. Is there a recipe for a bone axe?

There is no Bone Axe. You use Bone Pick to mine Copper and Tin to make a Bronze Axe. This then unlocks the Bronze Pickaxe.
