How am i supposed to hunt a deer??
Ive been running around for ages trying to simply kill a deer for the basic tutorial/quest thing and im being told to hunt a deer without a ranged weapon or any understanding how to get one. I go to the crafting table and im able to make arrows but im unable to make bow apparently. When i go to the skills menu it says ranged and magic is "coming soon" so how am i supposed to do this...

Bow -.-
the big one
i gotchu man - just craft a spinning wheel (needs to be built in a house with walls and a roof to activate) and make some thread from either flax or animal drops, and you'll unlock the bow recipe.

thank you
I think, you need to spin flax and the recipe is unlocked, but not sure. Thatgs for the small one and that one can kill deer at the start with two hits
The longbow ... cant remember how to unlock but then you can one shot deer (its lousy against other things pfft!)

yeah i really dont get how anyone is supposed to figure this out... i have absolutely no ways or clue how to create a spinning wheel, i assume its because my house is bugged or something because i have 4 walls and a roof and it wont even let me place a cooking pot saying "it needs to be covered by a roof" i have a damn room

edit: nvm it cant be covered by a roof my bad but still doesnt explain why i cant see a spinning wheel anywhere in my craft menu

Either get a bow, or if you don't have a bow, just crouch walk behind the deer. They only run when they see/hear you. I did it with a dagger, so it's possible.

The recipe for a spinning wheel unlocks after you pick up your first piece of flax. It can be found randomly usually around the ruins that the old man is in
yes ive had to spend hours just online just reading and watching videos to just get the gist of what your supposed to do and what is expected and when you can upgrade to this and that, and maybe ill get to play the game.
It's not really hard to figure out, I didn't watch a single video or guide on any of this game.
It plays like any other survival crafter, and if you're used to that you get in the same habits.

- Pick up anything you see that's new. See a new pickable flower? Pick it up. New Rock? Try to hit it. Can't break through yet? See if you can make a new tool for it yet. Etc. Gathering new and random things tends to unlock new recipes.
- Did you get a new material? Go look at each of your crafting stations, and see if it can be used in it. Check your build menu for new stuff in case you missed the notifications.
- Keep your eyes peeled for anything that's eye-catching or different from everything around it. There are exceptions to this rule (for example there's a swamp weed in the Bloodblight Swamp that blends in with everything). Essentially, if you see something sticking up from the ground, it might be gatherable, doesn't hurt to check.
- The biggest one, if you get stuck and feel like you're missing a recipe, or need something you don't have, don't be afraid to backtrack. Sometimes a material you need now may have been present in a previous location and you didn't realize it. That's happened to me in every survival crafter I've ever played, and this one was no different.

Above all just have fun, if you do need help or advice it does not hurt to ask about and look around. I do suggest getting into the 4 main habits I mentioned above though, it'll help you progress and find things easier~
