the thing is these devs do not understand pacing at all. Like gathering iron in this game has to be one of the most miserable experiences I have had in a video game. Not only are you having to dodge random lightning strikes, and the shockbulb plants who can curve their ranged attacks to hit you so your only option is to dodge roll costing you stamina because apparently you're not allowed to sidestep ranged attacks, as well as dodging the constant dragon attacks, but also you can have 3 berserkers dropped on you at any moment through a "you're being hunted" event that btw, they materialised around me, I did not get the chance to fight back at all because they stunlocked me to death. Valheim was far better paced, this isn't "tough but fair" it's sadist fetish territory.
Oh also, not only are the enemies immune to the poison the dragons drop, but also are immune to lightning strikes, Only the player can ever be affected by environmental damage.
Also with hordes invading the base, I've managed to kill 3 waves in a row before falling to the fourth, but even then four waves of six guys seems a bit excessive especially if you haven't even gotten to bronze yet and that's been my experience.
For sure needs some scaling work and tlc... I hope it gets fixed / adjusted in an update because I honestly really would like to enjoy the game instead of getting a little frustrated from dying over and over again to honestly, stupid ♥♥♥♥.
1) build in a 1 level area, don't listen to that daft wizard in the broken building he's a nut job, "OHH.. come build here in the level 2 area, theirs only a few goblins to take care of" never mind the whole F'n green dragon that's wiped out the expedition fleet and strand us all here, he only visit every 3mins to spew his vileness everywhere, the old codger must be smoking that hobbits weed that Gandalf gets.
2) if you did build in the burnt out village you can always run up to the vault up the hill to the south,( looks like a grill on the map) you can even place a teleport next to it and one at your base for a quick escape.
Personally Yes the dragon is a pain and needs to be curtailed, why is he even bothering with us, isn't there an army or a castle he could be attacking instead?
his attacks on us need to be really cut down, a few fly by's maybe..
As for the goblin hunting parties, they really annoy me, spawning in out of no where, smashing thru my house in seconds, one wall two floors and a chest all destroyed in before i could even get outside to fight them off, i only live in a 3x3 hut.
The hunting parties need to be done like the bandit raids in the game Bellwight, where they actually have to come from there base and travel to my base, giving me time to head them off and fight them before they get here, or reinforce my base in time.
some of these things should have been figured out by their internal QA team though, this isn't some indie dev company, this is jagex, they are worth half a billion, they can afford an internal QA team
