Raids need a rework
After 25 hours of game play in COOP, my biggest gripe is the raids. generally the aspect of getting raided doesn't bother me but in this game there is no defensive builds at all. Mobs insta aggro a random player and b line towards them. mobs will literally bypass someone attacking them to go for another player, if they're the house everything in there way gets destroyed in near 1 tap. Leaving your base to save is existence causes mobs to de-aggro the player and run back to destroy the base. There is no offer of defensive walls or gate so placing beams and pillars are a barricade only works for so long and the repair option is near useless as everything seems to get destroyed in one hit (using tier 2 building supply's) would love to see raids get some sort of rework so this constant death loop repeat of raid repair raid would stop.

it wouldnt be as bad either if the raids were rewarding like a unique enemy type shows up in the raid with a unique drop or something

At the current state the game is in, just build your stuff somewhere you have to jump to get to (like the building the old man is upstairs in in the valley near the start). Goblins can't jump so your stuff will be safe there

I can understand the idea of using hard to reach spots as a work around at this point in time but trying to play the game as it would of been intended, living in further away from the starting location (working through the biomes currently living in the plains) but that's also allowed us to see how messed up things like the dragon and goblin + raids are so hopefully the opinions we form doing this can help improve the game positively

I'm assuming they will introduce some defensive structures soon, it wouldn't be fair otherwise - but for now this seems like the best work-around

In the road map they have stated "Expanded Base / Homesteading / Building Defences"

Great, thanks for checking. We just have to be sneaky with our building for now I guess

Are the raids bigger with more players?

Playing solo I get raided by about 10 goblins but they come in two groups of 5. Give or take. Definitely no more than 15 before it ends.

From my experience of playing solo, in a duo and as a 3-man party it seems to be a consistent number of invaders regardless of how many players there are

i built my house in the starting area so no dragon, also the goblins are so weak i mow them down with the whip. def agree

seem to be similar in numbers but they're tougher then single player. It does note when joining another players game that the mobs increase there hp and damage depending on the amount of players in the game.

that's awesome to know, appreciate the insight will have a decent look through the road map now.
If you dont want your base damaged:

Just attack goblins outside of your base.
or
Raids wont happen if you arent near your base as well.

theres literally only two waves of raids and they never go above level two out of 4 at the moment.

so if you are struggling with the raids that means to me your armor is too weak.

do the main quest to explore new areas and get better equipment

Use magic buffs (op and nesecarry) and or potions

We are living in the plains as we don't want to find cheese methods to deal with intended mechanics. we deal with lvl 3 raid mobs and have 2 waves, wearing full paladin and have whips killing the mobs when prepared isn't an issue. the issues arise when you are tending to supply's or building, if you have recently died and your getting mobbed on your bed and they've taken half your house out. Even running away to de aggro them because your weps are outside a vault half way across that map doesn't work as they lose aggro turn around and head for your house. there are just general bugs and then there are mechanics that need to be revised, i believe this is needs revision.
