Water and Food consumption way too high.
Is there a setting for this? I'm drinking/eating a ridiculous amount of water and food.

Seconded

Just way tooo fast, along with the dragon and goblin attacks are just a cluster.

Let's get rid of the whole mechanic all together, imo. This type of maintenance has gotten boring over the years.

You've never played ark if you think it's way too high lol.

Huh, I havent even noticed it ... to be honest, feels slow versus a bunch of other survivals. Just too bad you can't upgrade the maximum or get food buffs that lowers consumption while buff is up ..

I just installed a mod that keeps food and drink at 100%, though I hope a version comes out that drops the hunger drain by maybe 50% to 60%. I was just spending too much time gathering raw foodstuffs, instead of doing dungeons, killing mobs and exploring.

EDIT: The modder now has versions with various percentages of the vanilla hunger drain. I'm now using the one that drops it to 25% of vanilla. I think that's just about ideal.

its worse than ark lol, i timed the water and its ~3mins to lose a quarter of the circle.
Standing in base, it takes 10 minutes to go from 100 to 25%. It IS ridiculous.

My character feels like a laptop with a dying battery.

Agreed drains too fast and too punishing.

Hunger and Thirst does go down quite fast but getting food and drinks are incredibly easy and plentiful. So it evens out nicely

Hoping when there is an update that hits, it'll simply offer server sliders allowing us to tweak it as we like. As it stands I loathe much of these mechanics in any survival game. I think the only reason I don't mind it in this game too much, is because I can gather water in massive quantities and cook it down while I'm doing whatever and food doesn't seem too hard to come by as long as you're gathering.

I'd reduce it by around half and it would feel a little more comfortable. While standing idle inside my base, the amount should be reduced by at least 80%.

It's tedious to monitor it constantly having to stop to cook every few seconds.

A better solution might be to have the food bar pour into health as health recovers and water pour into stamina as stamina recovers, but as an optional boost for the player not as a hindrance to the game-play.

To clarify if the player is stationary/inactive with full health & stamina don't drain food/water.
If they're doing things like fighting, running, or using stamina, then it makes sense to drain food/water as a way to replenish those stats.

(this method would allow for players to be idle for a moment without their resources draining until they resumed activities and playing the game, whether they're in their base, having respawned, or waiting around in a dungeon for other players, etc)

You get better quality food and water that last much longer and provide other benefits. Geez just play for more than 10 minutes, people.

It doesn't necessarily need to be removed, but there could be quality of life improvements to how it's implemented as I mentioned above. That method would be better balanced and give players some breathing room when they don't want to be glued to a cooking pot for half the game.

For example if health is at full, don't drain food. If stamina is at full don't drain water. It would allow for more flexible game-play.
