I'm not a creative builder, so that aspect of enshrouded does nothing for me. I have to judge the these two games then on Combat and Lore etc. And for that RS:DW is the clear winner. Enshrouded's combat and movement systems are way too fast and simplified for my liking. The fact that attacking doesn't use stamina and I can just button mash without being punished for it is beyond boring.
Can't play enshrouded. Way too boring for me.
RS:DW however is more intentional. Enemies will raid your base so building placement and design matters. Attacking with any weapon uses stamina, so when you attack matters. The parry window is decently tight (unlike Enshrouded where you can parry at almost anytime during an enemy attack and it just works -_-)
Enshrouded's mage class relies on spells you have to craft and find and blah blah blah.
In RS:DW I can start staff blasting as a mage pretty much right away and we can currently use Air and Fire attack combos. It's very satisfying, especially in a team since I can use Air blast to hold back an enemy horde while My friends murder them with ranged or melee.
So. No. It's not "Watered Down" Enshrouded.
Enshrouded is for children who want a fast paced romp with no consequences.
RS:DW and Valheim etc. Are for adults who like a slower paced and more intentional experience.
Is that a joke?
Game won’t even have 10k players after 2 month 😂
Enshrouded is a decent game sure. But the combat is bad, and needs a lot of work. And outside of clearing the Shroud, and base building, there's no real objective to the game, unless you consider recruiting generic Npc's with pathing that is just as bad as the combat, with only a select few with any meaningful purpose, an end goal.
Also do you know 15 other players to play this game with? Do you even know 3 others? Or are you just looking for a random server you can troll on? If that's the real purpose, go play Ark, or Rust.
And enshrouded has the only system i know building a house actually matters with furniture provides buffs.
Honestly usually numbers don't lie, enshrouded had + 200 k players at release compared to 27k for this????
Everybody was waiting for a new MMO runescape and we get a 4 player coop....like WTF.
All they did was take from enshrouded and Valheim then re hashed it into runescape. The game is below mid and just another dopamine checklist game.
I played almost 19, after 8 I wanted a refund and then decided to give a full run thru and suffered for it, lmao. To bad refund's do not go longer. Yes enshrouded and valheim are much better, even when they both released into EA they both had massive amounts more to do and much better overall design.
This game isn't much better with it's half assed rest system and lack of comfort system but they did do a good job with build pieces being able to clip into one another and solved the scaffolding issue with magic.
I've enjoyed both games but Valheim is still King in my eyes.
If success is the metric, then Valheim is the golden standard. By a long shot.
Already beat Enshrouded. This is new.
