This vs Enshrouded
Sorry to compare 2 titles but had to ask, as never got round to play Enshrouded for more than an hour, and a mate linked me this title this morning and after watching the gameplay, it looks borderline identical, and we both already own enshrouded so I suggested we probably just crack on with that for a bit while this grows and gets developed more, so was just going to ask, are they comparable?, and what are the major differences pros/cons to each?

Sorry. hate to compare titles, but seems a valid question before droppin more cash to add another 0 hour game to my ever growing collection,

Thanks

I know it gets compared to Enshrouded but outside a few dungeon mechanics, I don't find it that similar. I think it's much more like Valheim. That being said, It's no way near the level of Enshrouded right now, but Enshrouded is an amazing game, so not sure that's a fair comparison. I think it's worth buying and playing later, once some tweaks and have been made and there's more content. Personally, I'm having a really good time with it as is.

There is nothing unique about this game compared to other survival crafting games. Enshrouded has a lot more to offer. Not just in content, but in gameplay. The map is tiny, very few enemy types, incomplete skill system, minimal shallow quests, and clunky combat. You won't be dodge rolling or anything. At the moment this feels like a tech demo with nothing groundbreaking to show off. I say this after playing for 17 hours and running out of content, even after wasting 8 of those hours constructing buildings to test out the structural stability system.

TLDR, no this is not comparable to Enshrouded. This is an empty shell that looks a little like Enshrouded. That may change later in early access, but this needs at least another year to cook before it will be worth bothering with. It was fun, but only for the first few hours. Then you realize you've seen all it has to offer.
Played a lot of enshrouded and survival games in general. The only similarities is what you'd expect from a survival craft game.

I'm only 4 hours in, but the pacing has been a bit slower, building is cleaner, but with less freedom for creativity, but more free in building anywhere you want.

If I had to compare, it feels like there are some shared elements from both enshrouded and valheim, but different enough to stand on its own without wanting to just play one of the other games. The game is incomplete, but not to the point that I can't still have fun It hasn't felt too easy or too hard. Almost no options for server settings, but the foundation is solid.

If you don't like valheim or enshrouded, I don't think this would win you over, but if you finished those games and other survival craft games, this is a nice one to add to the list.

In its current state, I would recommend both valheim and enshrouded first, but I've completed those games multiple times, so it's refreshing to play something new.

If this was a graphical and UI update to Runescape and still an MMO, then it would be worth it. Sadly that will never be the case. There is just so little to do. Combine that with not having an MMO community to interact with... yeah. Gets old very fast. There aren't even any NPC towns.

I'd love to say this is the better games BUT it isn't. Enshrouded really puts this to shame

Thanks all for the detailed responses. Think I've seen and heard enough to stick to my plan of prob giving Enshrouded some time first and letting this game mature a bit.

Looks fun but as stated above, seems like currently there are just plenty of similar alternatives more finished to invest time in.

Only a few monsters to fight in this

Do monsters, quests, items, treasure all reset in this game too when you quit it? That's the worst aspect of Enshrouded. Feels like nothing you do in that game matters to the game world, outside of a few specific points.
